1. Brands
A Brand represents the business identity responsible for sending A2P messages. It is usually tied to a single EIN (Employer Identification Number) used for federal tax purposes. The Brand concept ensures carriers know which legal entity is behind the messaging traffic.
- Tip: If you have multiple legal entities, each one generally needs its own Brand registration.
2. Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)
U.S. wireless carriers—such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and UScellular—are often referred to as Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). They each set specific rules and throughput limits for 10DLC traffic. Factors like Brand vetting scores and Campaign types can affect how many messages you can send per second (MPS) or per day.
- Note: If you need a higher message volume, it’s essential to comply with each MNO’s guidelines and potentially have your Brand vetted by an approved third-party.
3. Third-Party Vetting Partners
To build trust in your Brand, you will undergo third-party vetting. Approved vetting organizations are managed and maintained on your behalf by Pure CallerID to assess the legitimacy and compliance record of your business, assigning a score that carriers use to determine higher throughput allowances.
4. The Campaign Registry
The Campaign Registry (TCR) acts as a centralized database of Brands and their associated messaging Campaigns. Once registered, your Brand and Campaign details become visible to participating MNOs. This helps them confirm who is sending traffic and whether it aligns with declared use cases.
How Our Platform Helps You Comply
Our platform provides the tools and APIs you need to:
- Register a Brand – Identify your business with a valid EIN.
- Create Campaigns – Define your messaging use case(s) for A2P traffic.
- Assign Numbers – Associate your 10-digit phone numbers with the corresponding Campaign.
- Manage Compliance – Stay up to date on carrier requirements, potential fees, and changes in industry rules.
Important: Although our platform facilitates 10DLC registration, your organization is ultimately responsible for complying with relevant regulations. Any fees or fines for non-compliant traffic will be passed along to you.
Why You Will Register
- Improved Deliverability: Registered senders see fewer blocked or filtered messages and benefit from higher send rates.
- Reduced Risk: Proper registration helps avoid carrier-imposed penalties or sudden traffic throttling.
- Consumer Trust: 10DLC’s vetting process helps assure end users that your messages are legitimate.
