The Engage SMS Campaign Process ensures businesses can efficiently register, manage, and launch compliant messaging campaigns. As a Campaign Service Provider (CSP), we streamline the registration process by integrating directly with The Campaign Registry (TCR) and carrier networks.
This process involves brand submission, campaign approval, and activation, with built-in best practices to work toward high velocity approval and limited rejections/disputes. From vetting and identity verification to carrier approvals and real-time monitoring, Engage SMS provides a seamless experience for businesses navigating the complex landscape of enterprise messaging.
The following is a breakdown of the Engage SMS campaign process, which your Pure CallerID account management team will manage with you every stem of the way.
1. Brand Submission (TCR)
As the Campaign Service Provider (CSP), we facilitate brand registration with The Campaign Registry (TCR). This involves the following steps that are managed via forms directly available within the Pure CallerID application:
-
Provide Brand Details: Submit company name, EIN, contact details, and other required information.
-
Apply for Vetting (if needed): Some brands may require additional vetting for higher messaging throughput.
-
Appeal Identity Status and Standard Vet: If a brand's identity status is rejected or flagged, an appeal can be submitted.
-
Manage Brand Actions: Ability to add, delete, or resubmit brand registrations, including OTP PIN validation for Sole Proprietor Brands.
-
Special Use Cases: Handle registration for unique categories such as UCaaS providers, Sole Proprietors, and Platform Free Trials.
2. Build Engage SMS Profile(s)
Once the brand is successfully registered, the next step is to establish the brand’s presence within Engage SMS. This process occurs simultaneously with Step 3: Campaign Submission to ensure seamless and streamlined registration and provisioning.
- Create Pure CallerID Watchtower Profile(s): Establish profiles for number provisioning and registration across Core, TFN, and Short Code services.
- Automated Number Provisioning: Once approved, the system autonomously provisions numbers based on the campaign type (TFN, Short Code, or Core).
- Carrier Approval Synchronization: Numbers are assigned immediately upon carrier approval of the brand and campaign.
- Integrated Number Porting: If 10DLC numbers, Short Codes, or TFNs need to be ported, this is handled within the same process to ensure continuity.
- Real-Time Coordination: Works in tandem with Step 3: Campaign Submission to ensure all necessary configurations are completed in parallel.
3. Campaign Submission
Campaign registration follows brand approval and involves collecting relevant details that we submit to the carriers on your behalf:
-
Collect Brand & Campaign Info: Ensure accurate submission of campaign use case details, sample messages, opt-in procedures, and traffic expectations.
-
Customer Notifications: Engage SMS provides real-time updates on campaign approvals, rejections, and vetting challenges.
- Customer Success Education & Guidance: Our team offers best practices and compliance guidance to ensure successful campaign registration, approval, and longevity.
4. Build Engage SMS Campaign(s)
Once the brand and campaign registration are underway, the next step is to prepare the messaging campaign for launch. This involves configuring key parameters such as scheduling, rate limiting, data management, and compliance settings. This process can happen at any point after Step 2 is complete so that it is ready to launch as soon as all approvals are received.
- Configure Messaging Workflows: Define messaging parameters to ensure smooth and efficient campaign execution.
- Set Schedule: Determine the timing and frequency of message delivery for optimal engagement.
- Rate Limiting & Carrier Metering: Adjust message throughput per carrier guidelines to maintain compliance and avoid filtering.
- Data List Management: Upload and structure contact lists to align with campaign objectives.
- Compliance Parameters: Implement safeguards and opt-in verification to adhere to industry regulations.
- Pre-Launch Readiness: Ensures everything is set up and ready to activate immediately upon receiving final approvals.
5. Campaign Approvals
Before a campaign can officially go live, it must pass through Pure CallerID's internal final validation check points to ensure compliance, message integrity, and seamless execution. This step serves as the last safeguard to confirm that everything is in place before messaging begins - protecting brand and campaign approvals from immediate issues and risk.
-
TCR & Carrier Approval Confirmation:
- The campaign must receive full approval from The Campaign Registry (TCR) and the Mobile Network Operators (carriers) to verify compliance with regulations and messaging policies.
- Carriers assess the campaign’s use case, message content, and traffic patterns to ensure it meets their guidelines - and supply volume limits that the system automatically builds into your campaigns.
-
Final Review by Pure CallerID:
- Account management and compliance team conduct an internal compliance audit to confirm that the campaign aligns with regulatory requirements.
- Message Integrity Check: Ensures that the content adheres to approved templates and opt-in policies.
- Routing Configuration Validation: Verifies that numbers are properly provisioned, assigned, and mapped for correct routing.
- Delivery Optimization: Confirms that rate limits, carrier metering, and scheduling parameters are correctly applied for successful execution.
-
Pre-Go Live Confirmation:
- A final end-to-end test may be conducted to simulate live messaging and detect any last-minute issues.
- Customer receives a final readiness notification, indicating the campaign is fully approved and ready for launch.
6. Go Live
With all TCR, carrier, and final internal approvals secured, the campaign is officially activated for messaging traffic. This marks the transition from preparation to execution, where messages begin reaching their intended recipients.
Campaign Activation:
-
- Messaging traffic is enabled, and the campaign begins operating based on the configured schedule, rate limits, and carrier metering settings.
- Messages are routed through Pure CallerID’s Tier 1 network infrastructure to ensure reliable and high-performance delivery.
Real-Time Monitoring & Compliance Oversight:
-
-
- Engage SMS continuously tracks message delivery rates, response times, and carrier feedback to ensure optimal performance.
- Compliance safeguards remain active, automatically flagging any potential violations, blocked messages, or unexpected delivery failures.
- Any anomalies or deviations from expected behavior are logged and analyzed in real time.
-
Immediate Adjustments & Carrier Feedback Handling:
-
- If carriers impose additional restrictions, rate limits, or message filtering, Engage SMS provides real-time notifications and actionable insights to address these issues.
- Campaign owners can make on-the-fly adjustments to optimize performance, including message formatting, delivery timing, and compliance settings.
- Engage SMS support is available to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring uninterrupted messaging operations.
- Immediate Redress of Carrier Complaints: If Pure CallerID receives complaints or compliance concerns from carriers, they are addressed immediately to prevent service disruptions. Necessary adjustments are made in real time to maintain compliance and ensure continued message delivery.
Post-Launch Optimization & Reporting:
-

- If necessary, campaign refinements can be made to improve deliverability, compliance adherence, and messaging impact.
- Carrier engagement and feedback loops allow for continuous improvement of campaign execution and future optimizations.
Once a campaign is live, Pure CallerID remains actively involved, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and high-performing messaging experience.
